Adults know all too well the advantages the internet can offer, but many have not considered the advantages the internet can offer their child. We check out local and national news online, keep in touch with our friends by email and download the recent games for ourselves but never consider the learning experience our five year old can get by using the internet.
Now days, a child is expected to be able to do simple math, reading and writing when they graduate kindergarten. A fun and easy tool I use to help my child learn is the internet. The best site I have found for my Primary age daughter for free online children’s games is starfall.com. Starfall.com has many resources that are all game oriented for the young mind. Not only does my daughter use this site at home, this site is also used in my daughter’s kindergarten class.
Some of the free online children’s games the site offers are learning the days of the month on a calendar, learning shapes, holidays, word hunts, learning how to write a letter, learning to read and ABC’s. These free online children’s games are perfect for any primary age children. My daughter would sit at the computer all day if I would let her. She can not learn enough.
Another site that my daughter uses for free online children’s games is KOL.com. This site is offered through AOL. Let’s not forget to mention the parent protection that comes with AOL. This site is wonderful and geared for children ages three and up. I say three because my daughter started using this site by herself at age three. She is now five and needs no help at all when she wants to get on the computer.
